Magae Hartzell

An oil, acrylic, and watercolor painter, Magae’s work captures anything that appeals to her from plein air landscapes, to figures and rich abstract inner journeys. “For me, art is about re-interpreting the world of form through inner and experiential feeling using the visual language I love.” She enjoys color in all of its nuances. The beauty of southwestern Virginia matches any place but her deep appreciation of nature takes her far. Magae holds a B.A. in Art, University of Massachusetts and attended graduate studies in architecture, New Jersey Institute of Technology. Her work is collected across the country. She has studied with numerous art masters. Previously a corporate manager in Information Management, she has been painting professionally for 20 years and has exhibited in various locations including The Art Museum of Western Virginia; The Market Gallery, Gallery 108, and Art Elements.
