Welcome to Tough Talk Media, Inc.

Our goal is to spread the message of HIV/AIDS prevention in an effort to help stem the tide of this dreadful epidemic which is devastating all communities. We have a special focus on saving the lives of our youth populations, which represent a high percentage of new HIV/AIDS cases. We also aim to address the peripheral concerns surrounding this epidemic, such as social, economic, and political issues. Tough Talk Media is committed to continuously alerting and educating the community at large. Thank you for visiting our site and we hope that you enjoy your visit.

Natinal HIV Testing Day

National HIV Testing Day

June 27, 2009

“I am here today to put a face to AIDS, to dispel the myths surrounding the disease, and to save lives.  I am here to “Sound The Trumpet” against this deadly disease so that you, my precious brothers and sisters will know what to do to save your life, to save the life of a loved one, and so that you will know to feel and show compassion for all of God’s precious children,” Dr. Dale Anthony.

Tough Talk Media’s major goal has been to spread the message of HIV/AIDS prevention in an effort to help stem the tide of this dreadful epidemic which is devastating communities all across the country, with special focus on saving the lives of our youth populations which represent the highest percentage of new HIV/AIDS cases.Today I bring the racism, the stigma, and the discrimination that comes along with being HIV positive to the table and ask for compassion for all GOD’S children.

National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is an annual event meant to raise awareness of the importance of knowing one’s HIV status and encourage at-risk individuals to receive an HIV test.

CDC estimates that more than 1 million Americans are living with HIV, and one quarter of those people are unaware of their infection. HIV testing enables people with HIV to take steps to protect their own health and that of their partners, and helps people who test negative get the information they need to stay uninfected.

Across the country, thousands of HIV testing sites, state and local health departments, and community-based HIV/AIDS service providers will participate in NHTD events, by holding health fairs, providing community and media outreach, hosting special testing-related events or operating extended hours. Some of these events may be scheduled in the days and weeks surrounding NHTD.

NHTD organizers will also reach out to communities at increased risk of HIV infection, including African American and Latino populations, both of which are disproportionately affected with HIV when compared to other demographic groups in the United States.

I challenge you to challenge yourselves.  Work while it’s day, for soon night comes.  For we are all GOD’S children and have a responsiblitiy to take care of our brothers and sisters.
